With the effects of the pandemic, businesses around the world have been struggling to make money and keep their doors open. With this, it was natural to assume that a sport like NASCAR would face hard challenges. The sport lives off of outside businesses putting sponsorship money into the teams, and most businesses are short for money at the current moment.
Thankfully, the sport is bringing new companies into the world of motorsports. I think it’s important to recognize these companies and support them. They are putting a lot of money into these teams so that they and the drivers can go out and compete every week and entertain us.
Little things like if you’re choosing between Yuengling or Busch, choose Busch. Anheuser- Busch has been putting money into NASCAR for decades and I try to always remember that when strolling down the beer aisle.
In articles like this, I’ll be highlighting the companies that have signed onto the sport and just giving a shoutout of thanks to them for their support.
Guaranteed Rate – Sponsoring Ryan Newman
Guaranteed Rate is a residential mortgage company based in Chicago. They also are the title sponsor for Guaranteed Rate Field which is the home of the Chicago White Sox. Guaranteed Rate has extended their partnership with Roush-Fenway and will be the premier sponsor on the hood of the #6-car for 10 of the final 13 races of the year and if all goes well, possibly fund Newman’s playoff run.
Guaranteed Rate is a privately owned company and has received awards such as most successful private companies for five years in a row by Inc. Magazine. As well, top private U.S. job creator.
Acronis – Sponsoring Alex Bowman
Acronis is a global technology company that develops on-premises and cloud software for backup, disaster recovery, and secure file sync and share and data access. So, essentially they are cybersecurity. They are a privately owned company that is based in Switzerland. They will be on Bowman’s car for three races this season.
Formerly on Ryan Newman’s car last season they have decided to reenter the sport at Hendrick Motorsports.
Columbia Sportwear – Sponsoring Bubba Wallace
Columbia is the most well-known company on this list as most of us probably have a product of theirs in our closet somewhere. Columbia makes a vast assortment of outerwear and outdoor accessories. They’ve not only signed to appear on Wallace’s car for up to three races this year but have also made Bubba a brand ambassador. This means he will appear in a variety of advertisements for the company.
DoorDash – Sponsoring Bubba Wallace
Also joining Richard Petty Motorsports will be a takeout delivery service DoorDash. A company that I’m sure has only gained business during the pandemic they are an app that allows consumers to order food from any restaurants and a DoorDash representative will pick it up and deliver it to your home.
Along with Cash App that signed on last week, Bubba Wallace is bringing in a plethora of sponsors and revitalizing an RPM team that desperately needed it.
