Auto Club Speedway is one of the toughest tracks for young drivers on the circuit, so don’t expect to put too much faith in anyone with a rookie stripe this week. Custer and Reddick have solid days ahead of them with both of them having great stats at the track in Xfinity, but I don’t think we’ll see a rookie in the top five.

That being said, the younger side of NASCAR has been working hard to make waves this year. Guys like Blaney, Elliott, Bowman, and Byron who aren’t rookies but starting to get this whole Cup thing figured out might be worth a strong look.

I think we’re going to see many of the expected names running upfront. A couple of surprises like every week, but no fairy tale endings this week for any underdogs. It could be a great day to put money on Jimmie Johnson. Of any track he can break this dry spell on and have at least one bright spot this season, it’s here in Fontana.

I break my favorites down into three tiers. Upper-tier drivers worth $11,600-$9,000. Mid-tier worth $8,999-$7,000. Lower-tiers $6,999 and under. All based on DraftKings price ranges.

  1. Joey Logano – $10,900
  2. Jimmie Johnson – $9,000
  3. Ryan Blaney – $9,400
  4. Chase Elliott – $9,800
  5. Kyle Larson – $9,600

  1. Kurt Busch – $8,600
  2. Alex Bowman – $8,800
  3. Clint Bowyer – $7,900
  4. Aric Almirola -$8,300
  5. Chris Buescher – $7,200

  1. Bubba Wallace – $6,100
  2. Ryan Preece – $5,500
  3. Ross Chastain – $6,500
  4. Cole Custer – $6,900
  5. Tyler Reddick- $6,700

Best Line-up:

  1. Ryan Blaney – $9,400
